February Philanthropy Update

Philanthropy is at the heart of everything we do at San Diego Blood Bank. From funding critical supplies to supporting innovation in cell therapy and regenerative medicine, financial donors are saving lives today and improving lives tomorrow.

Your financial gift fuels new life and new hope. We appreciate you being a part of our SDBB community of givers.

We are thankful for our blood donors and financial supporters who help San Diego Blood Bank provide a robust, safe blood supply to Southern California and beyond.

Sincerely,

PAUL NYSEN

Paul Nysen
(pictured left) just celebrated a huge blood donor landmark - 26 Gallons. That means he’s saved up to 624 lives. Blood donors receive reward points for each blood donation and Paul has donated $1,580 in points back to SDBB in support of a new Trima Machine. Trima machines separate whole blood into platelets, plasma and red blood cells. Currently SDBB has a critical need to replace 14 Trima machines by the end of 2019. We thank you, Paul, for your financial support!

From blood collection kits to Trima machines, the support from our philanthropic community has made SDBB core blood services possible and enables more lives to be saved.

 TEAM PATIENT SURVIVOR STORY

Your financial support directly impacts our community.

MEET KAMILA AND ELLA

Kamila
and Gabriella “Ella” both have beta thalassemia major, a severe form of anemia that requires regular transfusions.

With your support they each can receive lifesaving blood every three weeks at Rady Children’s Hospital to treat their rare blood disorders. Kamila, Ella and their families are grateful for the blood transfusions that allow them to be alive and healthy.

It costs $60 to fund critical supplies to collect 1 unit of blood impacting patients like Kamila and Ella. Learn more about how YOU can make an impact by joining our Annual Giving Program.
